Wireless Hay Monitoring
HAYTECH is the single solution for preventing hay fires and improving hay quality
Your farm is at risk of burning down
Thousands of hay fires are recorded every year. Fermentation can cause bale temperatures to rise to dangerous levels in less than 24 hours.
Are you doing enough to protect your farm?
Hay fires cost farmers hundreds of thousands of dollars through lost revenues and replacement of buildings and feed. Join the cautious farmers who have already trusted monitoring to HAYTECH, the wireless solution that guards your hay 24/7.

Introducing HAYTECH
HAYTECH is a wireless monitoring system for your hay. The handy probes are connected to the internet, allowing you to follow the real-time temperature of your hay effortlessly.
Keeping your farm safe
You can check the temperature of your hay whenever you want through the free Quanturi online service. You will also receive alert messages to your phone if temperatures rise to unsafe levels.
Control hay quality
Rising temperatures can have catastrophic effects to hay quality, but with HAYTECH you can always be sure you are selling top quality hay and reduce the likelihood of product damage.
HAYTECH temperature probes
The Quanturi hay monitoring system contains easy to spot and robust HAYTECH probes. With a spike length of 40 cm, they were designed for use with square or round bales. The starter system contains 10 HAYTECH probes, but depending on the size of the farm, a single HAYTECH system can contain up to 500 probes.
Base station & repeater
The HAYTECH probes communicate with a base station and an optional repeater. The base station transmits the temperature measurements to the Cloud from which you can check the temperatures at any time. The repeater is an extra security device to guarantee the good signal transmission between the probes to the base station if signal strength is weak in a large shed.
Farmscan Solar 3G/4G Base
Farmscan has a purpose built 3G/4G solar base station to connect to the HAYTECH base station. If your hay shed does not have access to 240v - you will need to purchase our solar setup or provide your own.
The Farmscan Base is available in 2 options:
• NB IoT 3G/4G - Telstra SIM - owned by Farmscan - 12month subscription
• 3G/4G Wi-Fi - End user supplies SIM card on either Telstra or Optus. This Wi-Fi router can also provide a HOTSPOT for use with security cameras or other Wi-Fi enabled devices.
If you are unsure of the options you require, please give us a call on 1300 327 672.
Each Farmscan Solar base comes with a 20w Solar Panel, 12v 12A SLA battery, 30m of solar panel power cable and 20m each of power & data cable to the base station.

Install in
3 easy steps
The probes of the HAYTECH system measure the hay temperature and you can see the temperature status on the www.Quanturi.app monitoring application. In case of any overheating, you will receive SMS warning and alert messages on your mobile phone.
NB The system requires an Internet connection to Quanuri Cloud Server
1. Install the system

See all the sensors on one glance. The Sensors are displayed with their ID and the latest measurement with timestamp. Hottest sensors are displayed on top by default. You can change the order by clicking on the column titles.
2. Place your probes

Place the wireless probes in the bales you want to monitor.
3. Don't worry

That's it. You can check on your hay whenever you want from your phone, tablet or computer. If temperatures start rising, you will receive an SMS alert.
The HAYTECH probes
Each HAYTECH probe measures the hay temperature regularly every hour. The Repeater unit which is located inside or nearby the hay storage, collects the measurement data and transmits it wirelessly to your HAYTECH base station. The base station forwards the data to the secure www.Quanturi.app server, which sends possible warning and alert messages to your phone and displays the temperature status on www.Quanturi.app.
The safest plan is to place one in each bale.Every additional sensor probe improves situation awareness. However, even monitoring a portion of the haystack will increase security compared to manual temperature sampling.

Standard
base station
The standard base station is connected to the internet via an ethernet cable. It is suitable for indoor use only and should be placed in your office or home, not further than 200m form the hay storage.
The repeater collects the data from the probes in the storage and passes it on to the standard base station.

3G/4G
base station
The 3G/4G base station contains a Sim-card (Choice of Telstra/Optus) and is able to communicate directly via the mobile network with the Quanturi secure cloud. You can install this base station anywhere there is no fixed internet connection. A repeater can be used to cover a second hay storage on the same property. NB. The 3G/4G base station requires a 240v power connection or you may chose to purchase our additional solar base station.
